What is the deadline for a trademark opposition in Germany?

An opposition against a German trademark has to be filed within a three-month period after the date of the publication of the registration of the trade mark. Within this period the proprietor of an earlier trade mark or commercial designation may lodge an opposition against the registration of the trade mark.

Trademark oppositions in Germany have to be filed at the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO) in Munich.

How much is a German trademark opposition?

There is an official opposition fee of 250 Euro payable to the bank account of the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO).
