As a special innovation, the centerpiece of the new offer is a free online tool for an idea protection check, which can be accessed directly at www.flatrateip.com/idea. Precisely, this involves finding out with just a few clicks which intellectual property right or rights may be applicable for a new idea, invention or a new product in Germany. After selecting the appropriate type of idea from an extensive list and answering further questions, one receives information directly and free of charge as to which protection is likely or possibly available for partial areas or which protection is rather not relevant or completely excluded. Above all, founders, inventors and start-ups are given the opportunity to have the basic protectability of their idea checked quickly and anonymously without having to disclose it. Due to the novelty requirement for various IP rights, it is advisable for startups and inventors to deal with the protection of their idea and, if possible, not to publish it in advance if they intend to apply for an IP right. Since the free online tool only provides a general overview without examining the respective individual case, it is still possible to subsequently order a detailed examination for protection options for a fee. In this case, reference is made to the specific case and the protection options are analyzed and further information is provided.
Many all-inclusive offers for the registration of intellectual property rights such as trademarks, designs, patents and utility models
In order to enable potential clients to calculate the costs of an IP application as accurately as possible in advance and to avoid any negative surprises, a wide variety of flat-rate offers have been developed. Flat rates in the area of trademark applications (e.g. for a trademark application in Germany or the application of a EU trademark / Union trademark) have been relatively widespread for some years and also exist in part for design applications.
